FACS 485 : Senior Seminar
My Work
Presented below are various projects I have spent ample time completing during my time as a student Interior Designer at Liberty University. This page displays projects from FACS 485, Senior Seminar. FACS 485 is an advanced class designed to prepare students for the spring senior showcase as well as enhance public speaking and presentation skills in the professional design field.
Psychology Meets Interior Design Presentation

Project 1 :
Interior Design Speech: Open Topic
The objective of this project was to research a specific area of interior design that I am passionate about. I have always been fascinated by psychology and the way our brains work so I wanted to learn more about the relationship with interior design. I learned specifically about the impact lighting, color schemes, patterns and the layout of a space have on a person. Lighting and room layout have a large impact on a person's mood and levels of productivity especially if they have underlying mental health conditions such as ADHD.

Project 2 : Saffer House Team Presentation
The second interior design speech was a team presentation based on the FACS 250: Interior Design II residential project that entailed renovations and design for the Saffer family. Mr. and Mrs. Saffer were mock clients and the target audience for this presentation. After hearing the desires and needs for their home renovation, my design partner, Lindsay and I joined forces to combine our ideas from the aforementioned project. We worked together to create this presentation which demonstrates the aesthetic we feel would suit their family the most, as well as an ideal floor plan, construction ideas, FF&E and decor. We were given positive feedback and many compliments on our overall presentation as well as specific ideas for this mock residential project.

Project 3 : Senior Showcase
The final project for FACS 485 was the senior showcase. This project was created to be the grand finale and give the opportunity to display my talent through some of my favorite pieces of design work during my time as an interior design student at Liberty University. This event also allowed families, friends and various other supporters of myself and my peers to come see our countless hours of hard work. I included a slideshow presentation as well as various types of projects, elements and principles of design and samples of fabrics and paint samples from my internship. It was a great networking event as well as it gave opportunity to share my story, successes and connect with others.
